David L. Ginsberg was born in New Jersey, but grew up on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. He attended the University of Virginia, where he received a Bachelor of Science from the McIntire School of Commerce with concentrations in finance and marketing in 1992. He earned his law degree from George Mason University School of Law in 1996, where he was a member of the Civil Rights Law Journal. He has lived in Northern Virginia for more than 15 years, and considers Fairfax County his home.
Mr. Ginsberg has been recognized as a top divorce lawyer by the Northern Virginia magazine. He is an experienced litigator, and has handled complex equitable distribution, custody and support cases. He has a particular interest in cases involving business entities and asset tracing issues, and he has extensive experience with cases that require the division of stock options, deferred compensation plans, pensions, financial securities, and investments. Mr. Ginsberg encourages his clients to pursue their settlement options whether through negotiation, mediation, or the Collaborative Process. Mr. Ginsberg has helped numerous clients settle cases, frequently by employing creative approaches and ideas that are designed specifically for each case.
Additionally, Mr. Ginsberg has written briefs and presented oral argument to the Virginia Court of Appeals on issues such as child support, attorney sanctions, and discovery. He has authored articles for publication in the Family Law News and Virginia Trial Lawyers Journal, and has presented seminars on spousal support and tracing.
Mr. Ginsberg serves as a Board Member of the Fairfax Law Foundation, President of the George Mason School of Law Alumni Association Board, previously served as the Chair of the Fairfax Bar Association Continuing Legal Education Committee and has been honored with the Fairfax Bar Association President's Award. He is also a member of the Collaborative Professionals of Northern Virginia, Virginia State Bar, Fairfax Bar Association, and American Bar Association. Mr. Ginsberg is also an Adjunct Professor at George Mason University School of Law.
Mr. Ginsberg organizes an annual charity golf tournament to benefit a local domestic violence shelter, and has been honored for this valuable contribution to the community. The golf tournaments have raised more than $166,000.00 for abused women and children in Fairfax County.
