Today we are shining the “Meet the Team” spotlight on CGG attorney Bailee Brumfield! Bailee first joined CGG as an intern in 2020, and later as an attorney after passing the bar in 2021. Bailee has a genuine, heartfelt dedication to the people she serves. When she’s not advocating for clients, you’ll find her on the soccer field or planning her next adventure abroad. We’re lucky to have Bailee as part of our team.
1. You knew you wanted to do family law before you even started law school. What drew you to it so early?
I knew I wanted to work in an area of law that focused on people and human connections. I enjoy working with so many different people, all with different histories and challenges. Family law values strong and personal attorney-client relationships and allows me to make tangible differences in people’s everyday lives.
2. You’ve done a lot of volunteer work both inside and outside the law — is there one experience that’s stuck with you the most?
Definitely my work in New Orleans. During winter break of my 1L and 2L years of law school, I volunteered at various non-profit organizations in New Orleans. It’s such an amazing city and I appreciated the opportunity to learn more about the unique local culture and history, particularly post-Katrina. Also, an honorable mention to the Rescue Mission of the Roanoke Valley. My family serves meals at the Rescue Mission every Thanksgiving. I really value being able to serve my hometown community while also spending quality time with my family.
3. You love to travel! What has been your favorite place to visit and why?
This is such a hard question, but it’s a toss-up between Beijing, China and Gothenburg, Sweden. I studied abroad in China in college to supplement my minor in Mandarin, and I plan to return in 2027 for my 30th birthday. China is just so different from anywhere else I’ve been. Both my sister and I played in a massive soccer tournament in Gothenburg when we were in middle school, so Sweden also holds really great memories for my family and me.
