Joanne Randa was born and raised in Hampton, Virginia. She accompanied her husband Rich, around the world while he served in the United States Army. Upon his retirement from the Army, Joanne and her husband returned to Northern Virginia to raise their two daughters.
Joanne Randa, the senior paralegal with Cooper Ginsberg Gray, has been with the firm since its inception in 2004. She has worked exclusively in the field of domestic relations for the last 19 years in the Northern Virginia area. She assists the firm's attorneys with all aspects of their cases from inception to conclusion.
A graduate of the College of William and Mary, with a BA in Modern Languages, Mrs. Randa augmented her education with a paralegal degree from Northern Virginia Community College.
Mrs. Randa is a member of the Fairfax Bar Association (Paralegal Section and Family Law Section), the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association (Paralegal Affiliate) and the Paralegal Association of Northern Virginia, with which she is a Director and Pro Bono coordinator. She also assists in the creation and promotion of PANV’s paralegal and attorney continuing legal education (CLE) opportunities. Ms. Randa is also a Virginia Registered Paralegal (VARP), which is a voluntary paralegal credentialing system recently instituted in Virginia.
Her activities with the Fairfax Bar Association include assisting in the organization and implementation of the annual Paralegal Section Valentine's Day book project to benefit the residents of the Fairfax Boys' and Girls' Probation Homes.
She volunteers her services at the monthly Legal Services of Northern Virginia Pro Bono Divorce Clinic, providing free domestic relations legal assistance to low income clients throughout Northern Virginia. In 2008, she received the Harry L. Carrico Pro Bono Award as paralegal of the year with Legal Services of Northern Virginia. She also received the 2008 Individual Pro Bono award for the National Federation of Paralegal Associations, a national paralegal association.
