CGG lawyers Nate Olson, Kristen Kugel, Dan Gray, and Carly Anderson took in a Caps game (against the Rangers) last night with Office Manager Robert Kotwicki.  They saw a great game, with the Caps notching a win in overtime at the Capital One Arena.  They were able to attend thanks to the generosity of Virginia CLE and Rich DiMeglio, who provided the tickets.

Cooper Ginsberg Gray hosted the Paralegal Section of the Fairfax Bar Association

Cooper Ginsberg Gray hosted the Paralegal Section of the Fairfax Bar Association on February 13, 2018 for the annual luncheon during which the Valentine’s Day gift bags are compiled.  The Section, in conjunction with the Fairfax Law Foundation, collects funds to purchase new books and sundries for the residents of Foundations (formerly Girls’ Probation Home), The Boys’ Probation Home, and The Beta Program.  Each student will receive a reusable bag with several new books of their choice, toiletries and other sundries on February 14, 2017.  We wish all of you a Happy Valentine’s Day and hope you get to read a good book.

Robert Worster Selected as a 2018 Top Ranked Lawyer

Virginia Family Law Coalition

Yesterday, Dan Gray went to Richmond on behalf of the Virginia Family Law Coalition to monitor and address pending family law legislation in the Virginia General Assembly.  Dan attended the House Courts  Subcommittee meeting chaired by Delegate Habeeb, which voted on House Bill 289 (regarding transfer of circuit court matters to juvenile courts), proposed by Coalition member Pete Buchbauer, and patroned by Delegate Chris Collins of House District 29. This has been an extremely busy session so far, and the Coalition, chaired by Cheshire I’Anson Eveleigh, is tracking and addressing numerous family law–related bills.

NATHAN OLSON AND STEPHANIE SMITH BEGIN TEACHING FAMILY LAW AT THE GEORGE MASON UNIVERSITY ANTONIN SCALIA LAW SCHOOL

Earlier this month, Nathan J. Olson and Stephanie J. Smith began team teaching the spring semester family law course at the George Mason University Antonin Scalia Law School. The family law course was taught in previous years by the Hon. Dennis J. Smith (Ret.) and offers students an overview all aspects of Virginia family law. Nathan and Stephanie taught this same course last spring and received outstanding reviews. They are excited to continue introducing aspiring family attorneys to substantive domestic relations law and to help students prepare for taking the Virginia Bar Exam.

Nathan J. Olson Assists The Harry L. Carrico Professionalism Course

On Wednesday, January 10, 2018, Nathan J. Olson participated as a faculty member at the Virginia State Bar's Harry L. Carrico Professionalism Course held at the Hilton Mark Center Hotel in Alexandria, Virginia.  Nathan assisted other faculty members with multiple break-out sessions featuring a variety of topics related to professionalism.  The course, which is adeptly run by the Virginia State Bar, is mandatory for all recently admitted lawyers in Virginia and is held several times per year in different locations throughout the Commonwealth.  Nathan is carrying on the long-standing tradition of CGG attorneys serving as faculty members for this important program.
