Recent Court of Appeals Case Rejects Millionaire Husband’s Request to Reduce Spousal Support

The Court of Appeals in Driscoll v. Hunter upheld the trial court’s ruling that the former Husband could not obtain a reduction in agreed upon spousal support even though his former Wife voluntarily left her job.  The Court of Appeals stated that the trial court did not err when it ruled that, even though former Wife was voluntarily unemployed, the former Husband (a millionaire) still had the same ability to pay.  For a good summary of this case visit Virginia Lawyers Weekly.
