Paralegal Section Valentine’s Day Book Project

For in excess of ten years, the Paralegal Section of the Fairfax Bar Association has donated gift bags to the young people residing in the Boys’ and Girls’ Probation Homes of Fairfax County. The project is sponsored by the Fairfax Law Foundation, so donations are tax deductible. This year the assembly meeting scheduled for February 13, 2014, was cancelled due to inclement weather. On Friday, February 14, 2014 a few members and one attorney met at Cooper Ginsberg Gray to assemble and deliver the bags for Valentine’s Day. Tina Fewell of Curran Moher, Jana Sehrer of the Fairfax Bar Association, Heather Cooper and Joanne Randa (both of Cooper Ginsberg Gray) created approximately 22 gift bags containing new books, toiletries, water bottles (for the young men), and scarves (for the young women). All bags were successfully delivered to the Boys’ Probation Home, the Girls’ Probation Home, The Transitional Living Program, and The Beta Program on Valentine’s Day. Thanks are due to all who donated funds, Sensei Enterprises for donation of the water bottles, Courtnie Norris of the Fairfax Bar, the members of the Section and the staff of Cooper Ginsberg Gray for all their in-kind donations and other donations of time and energy to make this project so successful. This gift of reading will impact young lives in crisis.
